Justice Award, 2008

Headwaters Foundation’ Social Justice Award went to Somali Action Alliance for its commitment to organizing the voices of the Somali community in Minnesota.

Given the history of the immigrant community, from a background of repressive regime in Somalia, engaging them to participate in public democratic life and in collective action in the United States, has never been an easy job.

The Alliance has been recognized for its efforts to create social and political conditions that guarantee justice for all,  a compelling reason to our work.
